This Genre Workshop is a 4-week workshop where students learn to improvise scenes in the style of William Shakespeare. Improvising Shakespeare challenges students to play with confidence as those big, epic, force of nature Shakespearean characters, to use nature imagery for character and narrative, and to develop a robust Shakespearean vocabulary. This class will delve into those aspects as well as improvising in iambic pentameter, asides, soliloquies, and direct address to things, emotions, and abstractions. Improvisers of all experience levels are encouraged to enroll!
