Combined CORE for Narrative 6 weeks
A combined course of our four CORE classes.
Service Description
The four CORE principles of Impro's approach to narrative and genre improv: Character, Objective, Relationships, and Environment. If you are familiar with Impro Theatre School's curriculum, you will recognize this as a combined course of all of our four CORE classes. This course will help you create believable characters and relationships, give you the experience of letting your physical and emotional state as well as your own lived experience inform your characters and let you and your scene partners discover the story as an ensemble. You'll learn how to explore fully realized environments, and discover the story in a relaxed state of play. TUESDAYS 7:00pm - 10:00pm in person at Impro Studio in Los Feliz with one of Impro Theatre school's most popular instructors, Ryan Smith. Ryan is extremely busy in his writing career so this is a great and rare chance to work with an amazing teacher. Traditionally, Impro's CORE classes are 12 weeks, however this course will have an initial run of 6 weeks so it's a more schedule-friendly commitment. Ryan is a dedicated performer and writer with a passion for comedy and improvisation. He began his journey at SAK Comedy Lab, where he developed his improv skills and subsequently had the incredible opportunity to tour briefly with Wayne Brady. Ryan has also enjoyed success as a writer, contributing to three seasons of MADtv on Fox and writing and producing on various game shows such as "Funny You Should Ask," "People Puzzler," "Blank Slate," and the latest iteration of "Tic Tac Dough." Grateful for every opportunity to bring laughter to others, Ryan extends special thanks to his dog, Oliver, whose playful spirit keeps him endlessly entertained and inspired.
