6 MONDAYS 7PM - 10PM @ Impro Studio 1727 N Vermont Av L.A. CA 90027 Culminates in a class show for any students interested in performing. Learn how to conjure the the dark and seedy underbelly of the Film Noir genre made famous by authors like Raymond Chandler and James M. Cain and directors like Ida Lupino, Fritz Lang and Billy Wilder. Set in the underworld of post-war 1940’s and 1950’s America, Noir features dark, ominous settings, stylized language, and characters who are either cynical, malevolent, gullible, sensual or all those at once. Private detectives, femme & homme fatales, corrupt officials, the works. Instructor: Kari Coleman Kari Coleman is a founding member of IMPRO Theatre. Her acting career began with notable appearances on In Living Color, Married with Children and Mad About You. Her credits include playing Helen Stacy opposite Emma Stone in both The Amazing Spider-Man movies and Sydney Stone alongside Bo Burnham in the Netflix series, Zach Stone is Gonna be Famous. Kari has also starred in acclaimed shows such as The Good Doctor, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Seinfeld (as George’s girlfriend Allison), and Veronica Mars (as the embittered sex-ed teacher Mrs. Hauser). Additionally she starred in director Paul Feig’s debut film, Life Sold Separately. She performed a fire-eating act with Penn & Teller in Las Vegas and recently co-authored the Amazon best-selling book Through the Screen, a guide to killing it on zoom. She lives in LA with her husband, actor Kyle Secor, and their two daughters. @itskaricoleman
